NDRF disaster response training to CRPF personnel

JALUKBARI, July 30 - A team of qualified instructors from the 1st Battalion National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is imparting flood rescue techniques and motorised boat handling and maintenance training to 30 personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Mirza from July 23. The training will conclude on August 4.

The NDRF team is imparting training to the CRPF personnel on how to rescue drowning victims and provide pre-hospital treatment. The CRPF personnel are also being trained in boat handling and maintenance. The main objective of the training is to prepare the CRPF personnel to respond and rescue people during flood.

The NDRF team will train a total of 90 CRPF men. This is the second batch of CRPF personnel who are being trained, and the 3rd batch will be trained from August 6 to 18.

The NDRF has also organised several disaster response capacity building programmes for more than 49,000 stakeholders and students of various schools and colleges of the north-eastern states.
