NDFB (R) alleges torture by Central officials

TEZPUR, March 21 � Publicity secretary of NDFB (R), B Naizab, in a press note issued here, has condemned the act of alleged atrocity upon the asstt general secretary of the Ranjan Daimary faction of the outfit, B Khulu Khulu, lodged in the Gauhati Central Jail, by two special officers from Home Ministry, Government of India, who visited the central jail recently.

B Naizab, publicity secretary of the central committee of Ranjan Daimary faction of NDFB, alleged that the two officials from Home Ministry, Government of India, namely AK Verma and S Prasad recently visited the Gauhati Central Jail and met the asstt general secretary of the organisation wherein the duo harassed him physically and mentally. The NDFB leader was asked many questions regarding the whereabouts of ULFA supremo Paresh Baruah in Myanmar and as he refused to say anything about Paresh Baruah�s whereabouts, he was allegedly tortured inside the jail even before the jail authorities.

Expressing annoyance over such act by the Central Government representatives, the outfit�s spokesman made it clear that if such acts continue even after the organisation declaring unilateral ceasefire, it would be bound to consider the matter seriously for which government agencies would be responsible, said a release.
