NCST to monitor schemes for Manipur tribals

IMPHAL, July 11 - National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) will look into the grievances of the tribals and monitor the implementation of the government schemes and programmes meant for tribals in Manipur.

This was conveyed by NCST vice chairperson Anusuiya Uikey while speaking at a day-long discussion on �Awareness and Orientation Programme on Constitutional Rights of Scheduled Tribes in India� and interaction with tribals leaders at Tribal Research Institute here recently.

The awareness and orientation programme was organised by All Tribal Students� Union Manipur (ATSUM).

The NCST vice chairperson also expressed the need to raise tribals� voice to get their rights in the country. Later, representatives of the tribal bodies and villages submitted memorandums to the NCST vice chairperson.
