NEW DELHI, Jan 12 The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Parliament is all set to take up the Special Survey Report of the CAG on North Cachar Hills, disclosed chairman of the Committee Dr Murli Manohar Joshi.

Addressing a press conference, Dr Joshi said that the PAC has called for details of the special survey report. Ramen Deka, a member of the PAC has been asked to coordinate and submit details available with him, the chairman added.

Meanwhile, Deka told newsmen here that he has urged the PAC chairman to urgently take up the special survey report of the CAG.

In a letter, the BJP Lok Sabha MP, said he has conveyed that different socio-cultural organisations from Assam have approached him to take up the Rs 1000 crore financial scam as central subject on PAC on the basis of the special survey report of CAG.

There are large scale allegations of corruption in transport subsidy provided by the Central Government, he further informed the chairman. Deka claimed that Dr Joshi has accepted his proposal.

As reported by this newspaper, the special survey report has been already submitted to the PAC by the CAG last year. The BJP is likely to turn the heat on Gogoi Government over the issue ahead of the Assembly polls and PACs action is likely to draw attention at the national level.
