GUWAHATI, Feb 25 � navarang Club defeated Chandmari Sports Club by 63 runs while Ankurjyoti got the better of Titan XI on the opening day of the NEEDS organised Uma Charan Bania Trophy T20 Cricket Tournament at the Judges� Field here last evening.

In the first match Navarang scored 126 for seven and restricted the opponent to 63. The second match was also a one-sideed affair as chasing a target of 141 set by Ankurjyoti, Titan managed to score 108 for seven.

The championship was inagurated by senior advocate Satyen Deka.

Brief scores: Navarang 126/7 (Amit Boro 23, Sonu Kumar 21, Abhijit Rabha 20, Chintu Borgohain 2/13). Chandmari SC 63 (Shekharjyoti Barman 3/6).

Ankurjyoti 140/5 (Prahlad Gayan 52, Nirendra Deka Raja 35, Surinder Singh 2/12). Titan 108/7 (Dilip Singh 31, Bikash Singh 20, Laxman Sikdar 18, Rohit Sharma 2/8, Rio Pramanik 2/15).
