GUWAHATI, Aug 6 - Navajyoti Club rallied to hold NF Railway Sports Club 1-1 in the inaugural match of the RG Baruah Trophy GSA Super Division Football League.
At the Nehru Stadium here today, Chayaram Basumatary put NF Railway ahead in the 40th minute off a set piece and maintained the lead till the break. However, Navajyoti boys put up a spirited display in the second session and restored parity in the 58th minute when Mohammad Shidili KP hit the Railway net through a spot kick.
It was a mediocre encounter in scorching heat and players of both the teams found it difficult in putting maximum effort throughout the course of the match.
Danish Boro of Navajyoti failed to convert a penalty kick in the 90th minute.
