GUWAHATI, Jan 9 � Navajyoti Club trounced Santipur Athletic Club by 7 wickets in today�s group league match of the Gauhati Town Club organised Ramesh Baruah Invitational Cricket Tournament at the Judges� Field here.
It was their second consecutive victory in the four-team group.
Being invited to bat first, Santipur AC managed to score 124 for 9 in the allotted 30 overs. Baring Yatin Mallik (25) no other Santipur batsmen could hit form as Sib Sankar Roy ripped through their batting line-up with 3 wickets.
Chasing the easy target, Navajyoti cracked 128 in 22.2 overs losing just 3 wickets. Inform State Ranji batsman Pallav Das remained unbeaten with 56-ball 66 while Parvez Aziz added unbeaten 24.
