Nat�l workshop on GLP sensitization held

BAIHATA CHARIALI, May 20 - Under the aegis of National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mirza and in collaboration with the Quality Council of India, CDSA, Govt of India and THSTI, Faridabad , a workshop on Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) sensitization was organized today at NIPER, Mirza.

The workshop was inaugurated by professor YK Gupta, principal adviser THSTI. He interacted with faculties and scientists who had come from various parts of India. The welcome address was delivered by Dr USN Murti, the Director of NIPER.

In the workshop, Dr Vinita Sarma, former head of NGCMA and Professor Bikash Medhi, Professor of Pharmacology, PGIMER, Chandigarh emphasised on GLP test facility vis-a-vis compliance to OECD principles of GLP.

Dr Manish Pande, Director of Quality Council of India and Dr Sharad Sarma from CDRI Lucknow highlighted on the QCI and partnership between NGCMA and QCI and resources and documentation in GLP environment.

Dr AB Pant, senior principal scientist, CSIR, IITR Lucknow briefed about the test facility management, role and responsibilities while Sucheta Banerjee Kurundkar, Director, Training CDSA, THSTI, DBT spoke on how to achieve GLP accreditation and certification.

Finally, the session came to an end with the concluding remarks by professor YK Gupta and Dr USN Murty. A total of 100 participants took part.
