GUWAHATI, Jan 28 - A mega national integration camp, organized by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Assam, was inaugurated today by the State PWD, Fisheries and Excise Minister Parimal Shuklabaidya at the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Kahikuchi campus, Guwahati. The camp has been organized commemorating India-ASEAN special summit 2018, with special focus on the Northeast.
Though formally inaugurated today, the camp got underway from January 27 and would culminate on January 31. The inaugural event today was attended by State Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Naba Kumar Doley and Vice Chancellor of the Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University Dr Hitesh Deka.
Shekhar Rao Perala and Dilip Saikia, national vice chairman of Nehru Yuva Kendra and TN Mishra, deputy director of the organization, welcomed the participants and explained the objectives of the event. In the afternoon, a technical session was conducted by academician Nani Gopal Mahanta on forthcoming opportunities for the younger generations in view of the Indo-ASEAN relations.
