GUWAHATI, Aug 31 � The 102 National Ambulance Service (NAS) that has completed one year of service in the state attended around 84528 emergencies since its launching.
The Govt of Assam along with GVK EMRI had launched the National Ambulance Service.
The 102 National Ambulance Service (NAS) is first of its kind in the country to serve IFT (Inter Facility Transfer). The service is for referred patient from a lower hospital to higher hospital.
The NAS has covered all the 27 districts of the State. According to officials, it attended to 107831 emergency calls, 82377 IFT cases, 1237 dropbacks and 704 emergency cases till August 27, 2014 and covered 24 civil hospitals, 13 sub-divisional civil hospitals, 40 FRUs, and 108 CHCs across Assam.
The response centre in Guwahati had received over 18,76,682 calls out of which 16,02,626 were ineffective calls comprising no response, hoax, and child calls etc.
Call to 102 by hospital authority/beneficiary is to be done for obtaining IFT service, for ante-natal check-up in case of pregnant women, post delivery drop-back of mother and neonate, post delivery check-up pertaining to any ailment of mother or neonate.
