Nation safe under PM Modis leadership: Sonowal

By A Correspondent

NAGAON, Feb 27 - Around 130 crore people of the country are safe from almost all directions in India due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP alliance government and busting of the Pakistan-backed cells of terrorism in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Prime Minister Modi has protected the glory of the every Indian. The people of the country should bestow power again on a great patriot like Narendra Modi to lead the nation, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said today here at a party rally at Nehrubali field in Nagaon. Sonowal said that the nation will remain in safe hands only under Modis leadership.

Taking a dig at the Opposition Congress, Sonowal asserted however that during the 60-year- long tenure of the Congress government in the country, the Opposition Congress tainted the political history of the country by snatching away the fundamental rights from the poor. But during the reigns of the BJP-led alliance government, people from all corners of the society have been able to live with honour, modesty as well as self-esteem, he said.

He alleged that during the reigns of Congress, even to get the benefits of a government scheme, the people had to take party membership and those who opposed it were deprived. But in the BJP government, the government has kept its doors open for all irrespective of religions, political parties, castes and tribes, he added. He appealed to all to strengthen the base of the party from the grassroot level and has also asked all to extend helping hands to build the BJP in the State as a stronger political power.

In the rally, the Union Minister of State for Railways, Rajen Gohain, Rajya Sabha MP and national general secretary of BJP, Suresh Pujari, Ministers like Piyush Hazarika, Pallab Lochan Das, MLAs like Mrinal Saikia, Rupak Sarma, Angoorlata Deka, Dimbeswar Das were present and also delivered lectures on party issues and asked the party workers to strengthen the party from the grassroots.
