Narengi school develops software for online tests, evaluations

GUWAHATI, June 30 - St Francis De Sales Higher Secondary School is reaching out to the students and parents with the software �Desalite Connect� developed by the school itself to conduct online tests and teachers� evaluations during the Covid-19 pandemic.

�Despite being at home, the teachers are taking all the responsibilities to provide the environment of the school at home. The school has been conducting online classes using WhatsApp, Google Classes, YouTube and Zoom. The evaluation of the teachers also has been done through the software developed by the school,� said principal of the school, Father George Thomas, MSFS.

There are altogether 1,750 students in SFS Narengi, and 77 teaching and non-teaching staff.

�Though it is a lockdown, we have lost nothing but gained more. The school initiated the Desalite online fiesta where the students participated in various events with their family members,� he added.

The school has also been conducting parents-teachers meets online through Zoom. Moreover, regular staff meeting is being conducted every Saturday.

�Though the teachers are unfamiliar with such high-end technology, yet they have been able to apply it perfectly. A wide variety of webinar sessions has been conducted by the school, which has helped students broaden their skills as well as their understanding of their field of interest,� he added.
