Narcotics seized at Bongaigaon Railway Station

BONGAIGAON, Oct 31 - Government Railway Police (GRP) seized 50,000 narcotic tablets said to be worth over Rs 1 crore from the Saraighat Express train at the New Bongaigaon Railway Station on Tuesday.

The tablets were packed in an unclaimed bag kept in a general coach of the train.

Similarly, during a routine check at the overbridge, GRP personnel seized around 5 kg of ganja from Subhash Sil Sarma, who had arrived at the New Bongaigaon Railway Station by the Intercity Up passenger train on Wednesday morning with the narcotics.

When he was about to leave the station for Tura in Meghalaya, the GRP personnel caught him on suspicion and recovered a big packet of ganja.
