Nalbari all set for third phase of Lok Sabha poll

NALBARI, April 21 - Nalbari is all set for the third phase of Lok Sabha election to be held in two Assembly constituencies, namely Barkshetri and Dharmapur on April 23.

The Barkshetri LAC of the district is under the Guwahati Lok Sabha seat while the Dharmapur LAC is under the Barpeta seat.

According to official sources in the district, polling will be held in 330 polling stations, including 243 at Barkshetri and 187 at Dharmapur LAC.

While talking to this Correspondent, the Deputy Commissioner Bharat Bhusan Dev Choudhury said that polling personel for 51 polling stations of char areas under Barkshetri LAC arrived in their respective polling stations.

The polling personnel engaged for the char areas were transported by boats, buffalo cart and tractors from Mukalmua area.

It may be mentioned here that the district administration has taken all possible steps to conduct the poll in a free and fair manner. In the second phase of poll, Nalbari LAC which falls under Mangaldai Lok Sabha seat witnessed higher turnout due to the efforts initiated by Deputy Commissioner Bharat Bhusan Dev Choudhury.
