Nagkata pond cleaned

GUWAHATI, Aug 30 - An exercise to clean up water bodies in every capital city of the country was taken up by Indian Oil as part of its Swachhta Pakhwada, being observed from August 16 to 31, stated a press release.

The Indian Oil AOD State office selected the Nagkata or Nagpota pond at Panbazar in Guwahati as part of this Swachhta Pakhwada. Indian Oil AOD State Office had undertaken cleaning of the Silpukhuri pond and the park during the last Swachhta Pakhwada from July 1 to 15.

Senior executives from the Indian Oil State Office and Directorate of Fisheries, Government of Assam, took part in cleaning activities on August 29, and cleaned the water body and its banks and adjoining open area. The release added that the Silpukhuri pond will be cleaned once again within this Pakhwada.
