DIMAPUR, Nov 25 The lone Rajya Sabha MP from Nagaland H Khekiho Zhimomi expressed the hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modis decisive government will leave no stone unturned in fulfilling the wishes and aspirations of the Naga people in particular and the Northeast region in general.

Extending his warm greetings to Modi on his forthcoming visit to Nagaland, Khekiho, in a letter to the Prime Minister, said the Naga people sincerely acknowledge that his decisive government will leave no stone unturned to fulfill the wishes and aspirations of the Naga people in particular and Northeast region in general.

Reaffirming the Naga peoples wholehearted cooperation and solidarity to his vision to take forward the Naga people along in the process of nation building, the MP said the Naga people and especially the present generation, driven by the slogan of government of Nagaland Peace for Development and Development for Peace, yearn for peace and progress in future lest history repeats itself.

Khekiho also took the opportunity to express his unreserved personal gratitude to Modi government for recognizing the uniqueness of the Naga history thereby exempting Dr. SC Jamir, Governor of Orissa, from general change of guard of the previous UPA regime irrespective of political affiliation. He said Dr. SC Jamir and Nephiu Rio, three-time chief minister of Nagaland and sitting Lok Sabha MP, are the face of the Nagas at mainstream national level today.

Khekiho also conveyed that the Naga people are enthused by Modi governments commitment to resolve the Indo-Naga issue within 18 months. He maintained that the only way forward to permanent and lasting peace and progress in the region is an honourable and acceptable solution to the six-decade-long Naga political issue.

At this crossroad, the Naga people extend our hand in creating history with NDA Government under your watch, Khekiho said in his letter.

The MP further said the present NPF-led DAN government of Nagaland, a regional party with national outlook, fully appreciates Modi governments Prosperous States for a Prosperous Nation perspective and seeks his goodwill to that effect.
