DIMAPUR, Nov 7 - Nagaland Governor RN Ravi today said the Nagas were at the cusp of history as a new dawn has begun for a new era of peace, unity and prosperity.

He was apparently referring to the Naga groups reportedly coming to an understanding with the Centre to ink the final agreement to resolve the vexed Naga issue.

Ravi was speaking at Tokhu Emong Mini Hornbill Festival as the special guest in Wokha local ground.

He called upon all to overcome the bitterness and bad memories of the past and come together in the spirit of forgive and forget and make a new beginning towards unity, prosperity, development and brotherhood.

The Governor said the spirit Tokhu Emong senchumta, which means reconciliation and coming together, was appropriate and befitting in the present situation.

Ravi lauded the Lotha Hoho, the apex body of the Lotha Naga tribe, in particular and the Lotha people in general for extending immense support to him in his endeavour to bring peace to this land even before he became the Governor of the State.

He expressed hope that the Lotha community will continue supporting him in the days to come as well.

He exhorted the Naga people that as inheritors of rich culture and civilisation they must ensure that their culture does not fade away with the onslaught of modernity, modern technology and modern way of life and they continue to perform and observe festivals, which bind the community together.
