Nagaland LS candidates yet to file papers

DIMAPUR, March 19 � No candidate from any party has so far filed nomination papers for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in Nagaland.

According to sources, the candidates of both the NPF and Congress are likely to file their nominations tomorrow. March 22 is the last date for filing nomination papers.

According to L Limsong, Assistant Returning Officer, Nagaland Parliamentary Election 2014, four nomination forms have been issued so far, including one each for the Naga People�s Front (NPF), the State Congress and two others. However, no nomination has yet been filed, he said.

The ARO also informed that the expenditure observation for the election to the lone Lok Sabha seat from Nagaland has been divided into two zones and the two central observers (expenditure), who arrived in the State last week, will be stationed at each zone in Kohima and Mokokchung.

He stated that Sushil Kumar Singh, Senior Deputy IFA, who will be stationed at Kohima, has been assigned the Assembly constituencies of Kohima, Dimapur, Peren, Pughoboto, Phek, Zunheboto and Wokha.

K Hauthang, IRS, is to be stationed at Mokokchung and is assigned the Assembly constituencies of Mokokchung, Longleng, Tuensang, Mon and Kiphire.
