Nagaland Governor compliments army

DIMAPUR, Oct 2 - Nagaland Governor PB Acharya has congratulated the Indian Army for carrying out the surgical strikes on September 28 on terrorist launch pads across the Line of Control (LoC). He also congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his strong and right decision to fight terrorism.

In a statement, the Governor noted that the operation carried out by the army was �to safeguard our Nation and neutralise Pakistan sponsored terrorists planning to infiltrate into Indian territory.� Acharya asserted that �India under the dynamic leadership of Modiji is safe�.

He also saluted the brave soldiers for their valour and said the people were �really proud of our Army and the whole nation supports them�.

Stating that �our brave jawans had given a befitting reply� to those attacking innocent civilians and jawans, Acharya said the surgical attack reaffirmed Army�s valour and commitment to nation�s security.

He said it was a proof of Indian Army�s valour and patriotism and a clear message sent to the terrorists by destroying their launch pads across the LoC.

Meanwhile, in view of the nationwide alert sounded by the Ministry of Home Affairs following surgical strike across the LoC, Dimapur Police has sounded a public advisory on the possibility of �sabotage activities by anti-national elements.�

In the interest of security, the Dimapur Police, in a release, has requested citizens to be vigilant of unattended baggage lying in public places, suspicious items found along roadsides, unattended vehicles kept parked in suspicious manner, new unknown habitants seen in the wards/colonies, etc.

In the event of such suspicious items being found, the police have requested citizens to inform them immediately. Any suspicious activities or persons seen may be informed to the Police Control Room at 7085-0550-50 or the nearest police station or police patrol, the release added.
