Nagaland Governor, CM condole Khandu�s death

DIMAPUR, MAY 5 � Nagaland Governor Nikhil Kumar and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio have condoled the death of Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu in the tragic helicopter crash.

Mourning the untimely demise, the Governor, in his message, said Khandu�s outstanding contribution and service to the people of Arunachal Pradesh in general and the people of Tawang in particular will be remembered for ever. Conveying his condolences to the bereaved family members, he prayed that God would grant them strength to bear the great loss.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has expressed shock after the confirmation of the Arunachal CM�s demise.

Describing Khandu as a down to earth and a highly practical politician, Rio said in his tragic demise the people of Arunachal Pradesh have indeed lost a veteran leader, a leader who had taken the State on the path to remarkable progress.

Furthermore, he said Khandu�s untimely demise is not only a great loss to the people of Arunachal but also a loss for the people of North East region and the country as a whole.

On behalf of the people of Nagaland and on his own behalf, the CM conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the people of Arunachal Pradesh and also to the dear and near ones of the other bereaved families and prayed that the departed souls would rest in eternal peace

Former NPCC president MLA I Imkong has also expressed grief over the demise of Khandu. Stating that they had known each other for a long time, Imkong said he found Khandu to be a visionary in spirit and an achiever in action.

He conveyed deepest condolences to all the members of the bereaved family and to the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
