IMPHAL, Sept 7 - The United Naga Council (UNC) has banned the Congress party offices in Naga areas of Manipur with immediate effect. The UNC has also demanded the immediate resignation of all the Naga Ministers and MLAs of the Manipur Assembly for their failure to defend and protect the tribal people from the anti-tribal and anti- Naga policies and design of the Manipur Government.

The UNC further resolved that all the construction activities of projects in Naga areas in Manipur will be banned for 15 days from 6 am of September 10.

These resolutions were adopted at the UNC Presidential meeting today in protest against the passing of the three Bills by the Manipur Assembly and the killing of nine innocent people in Churachandpur.

The UNC also announced to socially boycott Congress MLA K Ranjit for his statement in the Assembly recently where he had reportedly said there are no Nagas in Manipur.
