Naduar in the grip of fresh floods

JAMUGURIHAT, July 21 � As the water level of the Brahmaputra is rising because of incessant rains in the catchment areas, floodwaters have surged through the breach at Solmara in the Panpur Biswanath embankment and again inundated the southern part of Naduar Revenue Circle from Solmara in Sootea to Lalitapur in Jamuguri. After returning to their devastated homes after spending eight to ten days in various relief camps, the flood-hit have been returning again to the camps at Sootea College, Normal School, Higher Secondary School, Academy, Moqtab and Charaijani LP School since the night of July 15. The affected villages are Bokarapatty, Solmari, Bhojmari No. 1 and 2, Aadaabheti, Chenimari, Karayani, Tuwaripal, Gorpal, Kalakati, etc., under Sootea AP and Pawepal No. 1 and 2, Khalihamari, Thulitika Gowalpam, Majbasti, Naramari, Kathpora, Chitalmari, Panpurghat, Hokokagopchar, Kachamari, Lalitapur, etc., under Naduar AP.

Relief materials have been provided to the inmates of the camp by the district administration and the NDRF with boats are ready to rescue the flood victims. The NDRF has served commendably in the last few days.
