Mystery shrouds electrocution death

MANGALDAI, Sep 1 - Mystery shrouds the death of a villager who got electrocuted, while at a poultry farm at village Borangabari near Dighirpar under Mangaldai Police Station on August 30 evening. Three persons, including a doctor, have been arrested by the police in this connection. The deceased has been identified as one Nanda Deka of the same village.

As per reports, the deceased on that evening at about 6.30 pm came to see a poultry farm in his village and somehow came into contact with a live wire. On seeing his condition, the owner of the firm Zamir Hussain, his brother Dr Atikur Hussain with the help of one Durgeswar Deka took the electrocuted person to Sipajhar PHC in a critical condition where he was declared �brought dead�.

However, all the three persons allegedly left the hospital without informing the police. On receipt of the information, a section of the agitated villagers physically assaulted Durgeswar Deka and termed it as a murder case and informed the Mangaldai Police. Mangaldai Police meanwhile registered a case (No. 755/15 under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code) and arrested Zamir Hussain, Dr Atikur Hussain and Durgeswar Deka. However, all the three arrested accused persons have denied that it was a murder and termed it as an unfortunate case of electrocution. Sub Inspector of Police, Twinkle Goswami, has been entrusted to investigate the case. The agitated villagers allegedly also damaged the poultry farm.
