BISWANATH CHARIALI, Oct 10 � People living in Howajan area under Gohpur subdivision in Sonitpur district are very much concerned these days as a good number of goats have died in the last few days of some unidentified disease.
Sources said that the affected goats suffer from dysentery, nose blowing, coughs etc., in the initial stage and later die. Till date, 12 goats belonging to Ananda Baruah, four to Bharat Saikia, three to Deepa Baruah, two to Nanda Bordoloi, three to Rubul Das, two to Budhi Dutta, seven to Rakesh Thappa in Hilaipariabari, seven to Bapdhan Das in Pichala and several others in Sutargaon villages have died.
Though, the Hilaipariabari Animal Health Sub-Centre has provided treatment to the affected domestic animals, it has gone in vain.
