GUWAHATI, Feb 27 � The central event of the Munin Barkotoki Centenary Celebrations will be organized, with a various programmes at the Vivekananda Kendra auditorium at 3 pm on February 28.
As part of the celebrations, the Munin Barkotoki awards for the years 2013 and 2014 will be conferred on four young and promising writers of the State � Apu Bharadwaj (Mastiskar Cinema), Mridul Haloi (Akole Aso Kushole Aso), Tulika Saikia (Sarisal Gosanir Tej), and Dibyajyoti Bora (Topanit). In addition, certificates of appreciation will be presented to two other promising writers � Chandana Pathak (Antir Goli) and Pankaj Dutta (Phugu Masor Masuwoi). The awards will be conferred by poet and litterateur Nilomoni Phukan.
The function will be presided over by veteran journalist Radhika Mohan Bhagawati. A book on the former Munin Barkotoki awardees will be released by poet Hirendra Nath Dutta. A book exhibition of the award winning (as well as other books) of all the Munin Barkotoki awardees and also those by Munin Barkotoki will be opened at the venue.
A documentary on the life and works of Munin Barkotoki, produced by eminent filmmaker Prabin Hazarika, will be screened after the award ceremony.
