Munda reviews Kokrajhar situation

KOKRAJHAR, Jan 19 � Parliamentary Secretary (Home) Atuwa Munda today visited Kokrajhar and held a closed door meeting with the DC and SP of Kokrajhar at the Circuit House here to review the law-and-order situation in the BTAD area.

Soon after the meeting, Munda, who arrived here this noon, told media-persons that the meeting discussed al length several crucial aspects of the law-and-order situation in the whole of the BTAD area. He declared a compensation of Rs 3 lakh to each of the families of the deceased and added that expenses for medical treatment of injured persons would be borne by the government.

Munda, terming the situation very tense, said that strong action will be taken against the perpetrators of violence and assured that peace and normalcy will be restored soon.

He also said that 12 companies of CRPF, two companies of BSF and 11 companies of APBn have been already deployed in Kokrajhar and if needed, additional forces would be deployed to control of the situation.
