DIBRUGARH, Aug 19 - At least 25 power tillers and 95 sewing machines were given away to the beneficiaries under the Tea and Ex Tea Tribes Department at the conference hall of Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) here.

One non-governmental school, Udalguri Primary School received a cheque of Rs 35,000 for distribution of school uniforms to the students of the school. Forest and Environment and Tea and former Tea Tribes Minister Atuwa Munda gave away the power tillers and sewing machines as also the cheque to the beneficiaries during the distribution ceremony at the ACMS head office here.

Former minister Prithibi Majhi, Parliamentary Secretary Jibontara Ghatowar, ACMS general secretary Dileshwar Tanti and Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-incharge of the Sub-Divisional Welfare Office Lakhinandan Gogoi attended the programme.
