GUWAHATI, April 12 - Like in the previous years, the All Guwahati Students Union (AGSU) is going to celebrate the much awaited spring festival of the State with traditional fanfare tomorrow.
The student body, which is organizing Mukoli Bihu at the Judge�s Field, has requested the citizens to be a part of the festivity.
The programme will begin with hoisting of the Bihu flag by eminent educationist Dr Sushil Goswami. AASU president Dipanka Nath will hoist the student body flag. This will be followed by swahid tarpan.
Citizens who have brought laurels for the State in different spheres will be felicitated on the occasion. They are Dhirendra Nath Bezboruah, Dr Kameshwar Brahma, Ajoy Kumar Dutta, Prahlad Chandra Tasha, Eli Ahmed, Tiren Boro, Kuladhar Saikia, Brajen Kumar Brahma, Suren Talukdar, Dhanshri Swargiari, Mridul Haloi, Leben Lal Mushahary, Rebakanta Mahanta, Anita Sarma, Dr Anwesha Mahanta, Mridushmita Das Bora, Pranjal Gogoi, Manju Borah, Shankarlal Goenka, Samujjal Kashyap, Nilanjana Dutta, Bhaskar Hazarika and Susan Das Choudhury.
Several groups will present a variety of cultural items in the function. A special musical programme titled �Nostalgia� will also be presented on theoccasion.
The Doordarshan Kendra, Guwahati will telecast live the celebration of the Mukoli Bihu organized by the AGSU. The telecast will be available on DD 1 (National Network) and DD 13 (Northeast Satellite Channel) from 10:30 am.
