MP, MLA interact with trainees at IIE

GUWAHATI, Oct 4 - Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency MP Bijoya Chakravarty and MLA from Sadiya Balin Chetia visited the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati, earlier this week.

The leaders went round the Assamese Jewellery Design Centre and Garments Manufacturing Centre of IIE, said a statement issued today.

At present, a few youths from Tinsukia district are undergoing apprenticeship training at the jewellery incubator. They had an interaction with Chetia, who promised them help in case they want to set up some venture in Tinsukia.

The MP and the MLA also interacted with girl trainees from Barpeta district being trained on jewellery making under sponsorship of the State government.

Chakravarty appreciated the endeavour made by IIE in promoting entrepreneurship among the youths. She also appreciated the products made by the participants and emphasised the future scope of these skilling activities.

Chakravarty said she is looking forward for collaborative programmes or projects with IIE under MPLAD.

Chetia said that the initiatives taken up by the IIE in the fields of skill development and entrepreneurship would help the State.

He sought IIE�s support in building up of rural gyms in his Assembly constituency and for setting up of clusters in bamboo-based products in Tinsukia district.

Manoj K Das, Director of IIE briefed both the guests on the ongoing and future plans of IIE. He also expressed keenness to work with the State government for any development projects in the line of entrepreneurship and skill development.
