GUWAHATI, April 23 � The Government of Madhya Pradesh felicitated senior journalist of Assam DN Chakravartty at a function held at Bhopal on April 19.
The function was held under the presidentship of Rajendra Shukla, Minister of Information, Madhya Pradesh.
Chakravartty was among 19 distinguished journalists of the country who had been selected for felicitation on the basis of their �courageous and dispassionate upholding of the cause of the people and rights of men.�
Among those who were felicitated were eminent journalist Shekhar Gupta and Rajat Sharma of India TV.
Chakravartty, who could not attend the function was presented the citation in absentia.
Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, while presenting the citations, appealed to the journalists to serve the cause of truth and justice, and not to engross themselves in unproductive politicking.
The Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh welcomed the guests.
