GUWAHATI, June 9 - Noted mountaineer and former secretary of the Assam Mountaineering Association passed away today after a prolonged illness. He was 58.
Goswami was not only associated with mountaineering but also was instrumental in introducing the game of rugby in Assam. He was the founder secretary of the Assam Rugby Association and organised several rugby tournaments here in the city. He leaves behind his wife and two daughters.
