MoU signed for KVK in Baksa dist

GUWAHATI, June 9 � The Assam Agriculture University and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Baksa district.

�The 638th Krishi Vigyan Kendra of the country has come into existence under the aegis of Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, with the signing of MoU between Assam Agricultural University and ICAR,� said an official statement.

The MoU has been executed last week by Dr A K Sikka, Deputy Director General (Agriculture Extension), ICAR, and Dr K M Bujarbaruah, Vice Chancellor of AAU.

�The Krishi Vigyan Kendra will function for promoting agricultural and allied sectors in Baksa district of Assam. The district of Baksa has total geographical area of 2,400 sq km. and comprises 15 development blocks and 687 villages. This KVK will be located at Dhepargaon village, Kaurbha mouza, Goreswar Revenue Circle for catering to the needs of the farming community of the district,� said the statement.
