Motocross meet in city

GUWAHATI, July 12 � Nababikash Sangha is gearing up to hold a motocross championship, billed � Valvoline Al India Invitation Motocross & Stunt Challenge 2012 at the Sonaram HS School playground here on July 15.

Disclosing about the event, organisers Partha Goswami, president of Naba Bikash Sangha, Hiten Rajkhowa, Dipak Boro and Biswajit Bharadwaj said in a press conference that about 100 riders from States like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, West Bengal, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Assam are likely to take part in the day-long event where competitions will be conducted in four categories �Expert, Novice, 4 Stroke and Open. A total amount of Rs 1 lakh is at stake as prize-money in the championship.

The organisers have revealed that to give an opportunity to the youths who create havoc on streets by performing various stunts, this championship has been organised. They also claimed that they have been organising such events since 1992 in different venues.
