IMPHAL, May 30 - The mother of fashion designer and stylist Robert Naorem was found murdered in her house here on Wednesday, the police said.

Naorem Rekha alias Memcha (63) was found dead in her house at Singjamei Thokchom Leikai under the Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West district around yesterday noon. She was an advocate and the president of the Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum. She leaves behind two daughters and a son, besides her husband.

According to the police, they found the lifeless body of the woman lying in a pool of blood on the corridor of the first floor of her house with injury marks on her head and forehead. Police suspect she had struggled with the killer before being murdered.

Police recovered a bloodstained weapon from a room of the house. The body has been sent for post-mortem.

Family sources said that she was alone in the house at that time as her husband had gone to office and her son had left Imphal for Bengaluru.
