MORIGAON, April 27 - The Morigaon Sahitya Utsav 2018 was held here with a day-long colourful programme under the auspices of socio-cultural organisation Sabda Kalpa.
The first session started with the recitation of poems by more than 100 young poets of the district. The function was conducted by noted poet Prem Narayan Nath.
During the open session presided over by Morigaon District Journalists� Association, president Birinchi Kumar Sarma, chief guest Dr Joyshri Goswami Mahanta said young writers must take it up as a challenge to write something good. She dwelt at length on the women characters of the Mahabharata and said that injustice is being done to women since ages.
Novelist Arup Kumar Nath was conferred with the Pitram Nath Memorial Literary Award, and two poetry books � Kalpa Brikhya and Mouna Samadal � written by Kalpa Jyoti Sandilya were released by Dr Joyshri Goswami Mahanta.
