GUWAHATI, June 6 � South West Monsoon today covered the entire North East region. Besides, it has covered Sikkim and parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal too, said sources in the Regional Meteorology Centre (RMC) here.
The normal date for onset of South West Monsoon over NE region is June 5 and it arrived over the region delayed only by one day. Monsoon was earlier expected to arrive over Kerala on June 1. However, the India Meteorology Department (IMD) in its long range forecast had assumed that there might be an error of plus minus four days in this respect.
