GUWAHATI, Sept 5 - The last rites of former minister and senior Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) leader Moidul Islam Bora were performed at the Islampur Kabarsthan here today. Bora died at a city hospital yesterday at the age of 61.
Bora�s body was brought to the Ambari headquarters of the AGP, where AGP leaders including its president Atul Bora, former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, former presidents Brindaban Goswami and Thaneswar Boro, its working president Keshab Mahanta, its Legislature Party leader Phani Bhusan Choudhury, its general secretaries Ramendra Narayan Kalita, Dr Kamala Kanta Kalita, Durgadas Boro, Utpal Dutta, MLA Mukundaram Choudhury, senior leaders Biraj Kumar Sarma, Nurul Hussain, Pabindra Deka, and former MP Arun Sarma, among others, paid tributes to Bora.
Bora�s body was then taken to the Islampur Kabarsthan and the AGP leaders also took part in the Janaja performed there. The burial service was largely attended.
