KOKRAJHAR, Jan 19 - Lashing out at the Congress party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that the party which has 15 years of misrule to its credit, has no moral right to ask questions to a 15-month-old Government at the Centre.

Those who could not do anything in the last 15 years, expect me to do everythingin 15 months! quipped the Prime Minister while addressing a public rally organised by the Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) today at Bodofa Nagar here.

The Congress must submit a factsheet of its 15-year rule in the State before seeking account of the work I have donein the last 15 months, Modi asserted.

Taking potshots at the Congress leadership, he further said, What has the Congress given to the State which gave the country its Prime Minister for two consecutive terms in Dr Manmohan Singh and 15 years of Congress rule in the State? he questioned.

Addressing the rally, the Prime Minister further said, My three-point agenda for Assam is: Development, development and development. Terming development as the sole agenda for the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre, Modi assured thatall the work which is pending and all the unfulfilled promises that were made in the past will nowbe given special importance.

Although the Prime Minister assured according of ST status to the Karbis living in the plains and Bodos in the hill districts, there was no announcement of any financial package, as was expected by some quarters.

The PM, who reached Kokrajhar almost an hour after he was scheduled to arrive as his flightgot delayed due to bad weather, added that though my address at the rally was late, I assureyou that you will not have to wait for development in the area.

He promised that the BJPwould ensure all-round development of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) areas on fast track mode.

The solution to all the problems of the nation lies in development. The first and foremost needof this area is infrastructure, be it road, rail or waterway for which our Government has come up with Act East policy. It is my dream that electricity reaches all 24X7 by 2022 when the nation will celebrate its 75 years of Independence. I have instructed that youths from the North East should be recruited in Delhi Police and the process has already started, the Prime Minister stated.

Modi also announced that the Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar will get the deemeduniversity status within one yearand assured that soon the Rupsi airport will be developedand Kanchenjunga Express train route will also be extended up toSilchar.

Earlier, BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary placed a charter of demands and urged the PM for earlysolution of the demands. State BJP president Sarbananda Sonowal, convener of the election committee Himanta Biswa Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary also addressed the rally.
