Model mock polling station draws large crowd

NALBARI, April 4 - The Nalbari district administration in an unique move opened a model mock polling station at the office of Nalbari Revenue Circle for the awareness of common voters.

The General Election Observer for Mangaldai Lok Sabha seat JM Pathani and Deputy Commissioner of Nalbari Bharat Bhusan Dev Choudhury on Wednesday inaugurated the model mock polling station for the help of common voters.

The mock polling station is expected to generate voter awareness in the district. The model mock polling station has all the facilities and provisions for smooth conduct of poll as per guidelines of the Election Commission of India.

The model mock polling station has been named as Kanchanjuri Polling Station.

At the mock polling station, disabled voters on wheelchairs also cast their mock votes. The polling station wore a festive look as it attracted a large number of people.

Deputy Commissioner Dev Choudhury said similar model mock polling stations will be set up in all the revenue circles in the district soon to generate awareness.
