DULIAJAN, Dec 5 - The Resident Chief Executive of Oil India Limited and Advisor, Oil India Rural Development Society (OIRDS) Pranjit Deka, inaugurated a �Model Commercial Nursery� under Oil India Limited�s Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme at Amguri Nepali Gaon, Tingri in Dibrugarh district recently.
The inaugaural programme was organised in the presence of Dr Mrinal Saikia, Associate Director of Research, Assam Agricultural University, Rajib Sarma, Executive Director (Basin Manager-Shelf), OIL, RK Barooah, CGM (Instrumentation) & president OIRDS, Dileep Kumar Bhuyan, General Manager, Public Affairs & Vice President, OIRDS, NK Sharma, GM-PSS & secretary, OIRDS along with other officials of OIL & AAU and the general public.
As a part of the �Augmentation of Agriculture through Efficient Resource Utilisation with Participatory Approach�, this project has been initiated by Oil India Rural Development Society (OIRDS), under the aegis of Oil India Limited and implemented with the technical support from Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat.
Speaking on the occasion, Pranjit Deka emphasised OIL�s commitment towards development of the socio-economic condition of the rural populace in an around its operational areas as a part of the CSR initiative taken by the company. He expressed his gratitude towards the people of operational areas for extending their support and cooperation in implementing the project.
The project has been designed to execute through large-scale demonstration training and other necessary extension interventions amongst the selected beneficiaries in and around operational areas of the OIL India Ltd of Assam. To implement the project, the AAU was identified as the implementing partner to carry forward the project in Khordoiguri, Khowang, Amguri NepaliGaon, Genichuk, Rohmoria, Hatkhola and Chabua areas.
