IMPHAL, Jan 4 - With the announcement of Assembly election schedule for Manipur, the model code of conduct has come into effect to whole of Manipur from Wednesday. Manipur will go to two-phase polls on March 4 and 8 while counting will be done on March 11.
Disclosing this to media here this evening, State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vivek Kumar Dewangan said, �The model code of conduct will apply to the whole of Manipur State and will be applicable to all candidates, political parties, the State and Union Government as far as Manipur is concerned.�
Dewangan said, �Strict action will be taken against the concerned officials (if any) as the model code of conduct also applies to the ongoing recruitment process in the State.�
