Mobile science exhibition van inaugurated

GUWAHATI, Aug 20 - The Assam Science Technology and Environment Council director Dr Arup Kumar Misra today inaugurated a �Mobile Science Exhibition Van� during a function held at the Regional Science Centre, Guwahati.

The van has been developed on behalf of the Bharat Jana Vigyan Jatha, Assam, by Sparkee, a technical group based here, which is sponsored by the National Council for Science and Technology Communications, Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India.

In his inaugural speech, Dr Misra asked every citizen to inculcate scientific temperament and act scientifically for proper development of the society.

Former ASTEC Director Dr Anil Kr Goswami recalled the past activities of the BJVJ and said it has played a key role in the popularisation of science movement in the State. The event was also attended by BJVJ Assam president Priyabrat Lahkar and secretary Dr Manoj Patowary, besides scientists, educationists, students and teachers from different schools.
