AIZAWL, March 1 - The opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) today observed the 51st anniversary of �Mizo National Day� at its party office here and in other towns across Mizoram.

The MNF chief and former State Chief Minister Zoramthanga appealed to all the former erstwhile underground MNF members to come together and rejoin the party.

The MNF, led by Laldenga on March 1, 1966 had given a call for an armed insurrection.

Peace finally came after 20-years when Laldenga signed the historic peace accord with the Centre on June 30, 1986. � PTI
