DERGAON, Nov 10 - The third edition of the Mahendra Nath Hazarika literary award instituted by the Kamargaon Anchalik Journalists� Association will be conferred on Dr Gayatri Bora Kakati, the Head of the Department of English at Kamargaon College as well as a story writer, for her literary contributions.
Her name was finalised at a meeting of the association chaired by its president Mahen Saikia. The association instituted the award in the fond memory of literary pensioner, noted journalist and freedom fighter Mahendra Nath Hazarika in 2013.
Dr Bora Kakati has written several books like Akhan nadir janma prarthana, Chandra shanksha, Uttaran etc. The award will be conferred on her on January 3 at the third death anniversary of Mahendra Nath Hazarika.
