Mizoram reports one more COVID-19 case

Aizawl, Mar 3: One more person tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram on Wednesday, taking the state's tally to 4,427, an official said. The new patient, a 35 year-old man from the Aizawl district, was diagnosed with the infection at a private hospital when he went there for a medical checkup, the official said.

He has symptoms of COVID-19 and it is being ascertained how he contracted the infection. Mizoram now has 20 active cases, while 4,397 people have recovered from the disease. The death toll in the state remains at 10

The state has so far tested 2,34,742 samples for COVID-19, including 1,438 on Tuesday. According to state immunisation officer Dr Lalzawmi, a total of 25,377 people have been administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine till Tuesday.
So far, 8,092 healthcare workers have been given the second dose of the vaccine, she said.
