AIZAWL, June 25 � Mizoram today observed International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking even though the day falls on June 26, with a theme �Think health - not drugs� where one minute�s silence was observed for the youths killed by drugs.
Addressing the function State Social Welfare Minister P.C. Lalthanliana said that the youths should be motivated and guided with purposes in order to help them refrain from drugs.
Meanwhile, the Central Anti Drugs Squad (CADS) of the Young Mizo Association (YMA) has already seized drugs worth almost Rs 10 lakh since its formation on May 29.
To fulfill the social reformation slogan for the year, the central committee of YMA formed CADS to launch anti-drug campaign as drug trafficking has increased manifold during the past two years. � PTI
