AIZAWL, June 3 - Refusing to accept the report of postmortem of the two Mizo students conducted by Gauhati Medical College which ruled out the possibility of murder and stated that the two were hit by a speeding train, Mizoram civil bodies have demanded that postmortems of the two students be re-conducted in Mizoram.
They alleged that the two students were murdered along railway track in the outskirts of Guwahati on Sunday last.
A meeting of NGO Coordination Committee involving Young Mizo Association, Mizo Hmeichhia Insuihkhawm Pawl, Mizoram Upa Pawl, Mizo Zirlai Pawl and Mizo Students� Union recently did not accept the postmortem reports and said that they will take initiative so that postmortems are re-conducted in Mizoram.
The meeting decided to send representatives to Guwahati to investigate into the alleged murder and to meet officials of the Assam Government over the mysterious death. The meeting further decided to appeal to President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National Commissioner for SC and ST to intervene in the case.
As reported earlier, two Mizo students of Assam Down Town University, C Lalhmangaihsanga and R Lalmalsawma were found dead under mysterious condition along railway track at Panikhaiti area in the outskirts of Guwahati on Sunday. Their bodies were brought home on Monday and were laid to rest on Tuesday.
