Mizoram Hindi teachers� salaries sanctioned

AIZAWL, Nov 8 - Hindi teachers in Mizoram will get their salaries after a long wait as the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) issued a sanction order in this regard yesterday.

An official statement today said that the MHRD issued the sanction order after School Education Minister H Rohluna, who is camping in New Delhi, met MHRD Secretary SC Kuntia.

As many as 1,305 Hindi teachers in the State have been working without getting their salaries since the last eight months. The accumulated salaries amount to Rs 37,75,37,191.

The Mizoram minister and other leaders moved the MHRD on a number of occasions in this regard, but there was a delay in making the sanction. The official statement added that the salaries of Hindi teachers would also be increased as requested by the Mizoram Government.

School Education Director K Lalthawmmawia and Additional Secretary Lalzirmawia Chhangte were also with the Education Minister during the meeting with the MHRD Secretary.
