AIZAWL, Dec 27 - Mizoram Governor Lt Gen Nirbhay Sharma (Rtd) and his wife Jyotsna Sharma held an interaction with Church leaders and NGO leaders at Raj Bhavan here recently.

The Governor expressed thankfulness over the avoidance of fireworks and crackers during Christmas celebration in Mizoram. He also mentioned of his appreciation of the Mizo way of using Christmas season to extend help to the poor and the needy.

�I have found many good things in the Mizo society which are worth a model for others�, the Governor said.

Leaders of Presbyterian Church, Baptist Church and Salvation Army, and leaders of Central YMA, MHIP and MUP interacted with the Governor.

PTI adds:Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Minister R Lalzirliana recently gave Rs 10 lakh to the wife of F Zatluanga, a driver in State Excise and Narcotics department, who was killed by drug traffickers in February, 2014.

The cheque was given as ex-gratia to the bereaved family. Zatluanga was killed on February 11, 2014 by drug traffickers in south Mizoram�s Lunglei town while performing his official duty.
