Mizoram Government to wind up 3 PSUs

AIZAWL, Oct 13 - Mizoram Government has proposed to abolish the Mizoram Agriculture Marketing Corporation (MAMCO), State Trade and Commerce Minister H Rohluna said.

Replying to a question from Lalruatkima of Mizo National Front (MNF), Rohluna said in the State Assembly on Monday that employees of MAMCO would be given a golden handshake in accordance with Mizoram State Public Sector Enterprises Early Retirement Rules, 2015.

Intervening in the discussion, Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla said that all PSUs under State Government were sick units and almost all yearly reports of Comptroller and Auditor General of India had recommended abolition of the PSUs.

Lal Thanhawla said that the State Cabinet has decided to abolish three PSUs � MAMCO, Zoram Electronics Development Corporation and Zoram Handloom and Handicraft Corporation while the Mizoram Food and Allied Industries Corporation would be privatised and Zoram Industrial Development Corporation would be restructured by axing several employees. � PTI
